Classes

612 Yoga believes that every teacher brings a unique voice and life experience to their classes.  Yes, we are yoga nerds, and we love to talk to you about all things yoga, Ayurveda, fitness, and healing modality related.  Our instructors have a variety of trainings and backgrounds that makes each class special.

If it's your first time coming to practice, please remember:

  1. Most of us could not touch our toes before we started a yoga practice

  2. Flexibility is something we constantly work on, and gains are made quickly

  3. We all learned the poses/names by coming to classes

  4. Every body is different, don't compare your practice to another's

  5. Dress comfortably and say hi to your neighbor : )

Class Descriptions

Yoga for Mind-Body Connection

#flow #dynamic #pranayama

Every Instructor brings their own authentic voice to this class.  Each class will begin with grounding practices and the exploration of pranayama (the yogic practice of focusing on your breath)  by using various breathing techniques. You will then intentionally transition into a vinyasa yoga class where breath and posture connect and move you fluidly through a sequence of asanas (physical poses).  Be prepared to move your body, and focus on your breathing.

Yoga for Stretching + Recovery

#restore #release #align

A slow paced, low intensity class focused on restorative and cooling yin poses. Stretch and release in this class set in a candlelit studio.  This practice helps to release the fascia, ligaments and tendons while balancing your body’s organs and boosting your immune system. The practice of holding asana (poses) will help you

to sit with and observe uncomfortable thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations  as they arise helping us to engage in  Svadhyaya (self study)

Yoga for Grounding
+ Sound Healing

#intentional #yin/yang #slowflow

Every class will begin with grounding practices and the exploration of pranayama (the yogic practice of focusing on your breath) by using various breathing techniques. You will intentionally transition into a hatha (warm & cool) yoga class where you move slowly and deliberately through asanas that may challenge your strength and flexibility while simultaneously focusing on relaxation and mindfulness. Postures are maintained for multiple rounds of breath and transitions are controlled.

#sculpt #cardio #elevate #sweat

An intermediate class that combines movement inspired by vinyasa yoga with body sculpting sets mixed throughout. Prepare to break a sweat! This class will elevate your heart rate, and includes strength building circuits.

Yoga for Detoxification
+ Infrared Heat

#hold #kundalini #sweat #hatha

This class utilizes the same technology as the sun with gentle radiant heat from infrared panels that create cellular vibrations to release toxins at a microscopic level.  You will be guided through Hatha (effort or willful) yoga postures that promote circulation, detoxification, and release of these toxins.  This class ends with lymphatic system stimulation to aid in releasing the toxins from your body.  Tips for success: ensure you are fully hydrated before class, and bring water with you into class.  You may also want to bring a towel.

Yoga + Barre

#pulse #balance #posture #core

A low impact class that combines a dynamic warm-up with a mix of yoga inspired movement, barre, and mat Pilates moves.  This class will focus on core strengthening, hip stability, and lengthening the muscles.

Yoga + Sculpt

Yoga for Strength + Balance

#core #agingfiercly #drishti

An all-level class using classic yoga postures to improve your overall balance and body strength.  With an emphasis on increasing core strength and toning muscles, you will also play with balancing postures and focus (drishti) to give the mind a gentle workout as well.  Both strength and balance are essential ingredients to staying young, vital and feeling alive.
